The former school for orphans of railroad-employees had to be converted into a cultural centre by the municipality of Torremolinos. The listed building of the Spanish Modernism was erected in the years from 1933 to 1936. Today the two-storey building houses the municipal, cultural and exhibition spaces, a library, an archive for magazines and the College for Tourism as a part of the Alcalá de Henares University.
